They're open for the season! I recommend this spot if you're visiting Myrtle Beach. I loved their Fish Basket served with Fries and Homemade Pound Cake with Butter Pecan ice cream. The dessert was pricey for the quantity served but tasted really delicious. I was told that the fish was practically caught either earlier on the same day or the previous night. How cool is that! Ambience is super casual and service was fast although it was raining like crazy when I visited them. They have plenty of seating both in front of the shack and at the back near the boats. If not for the rainy weather, I'd have definitely enjoyed my meal gazing at the river and the boats. The 2 girls who took and served my order were very polite. Parking can be difficult to find at times when the area is crowded but not impossible to find.

I understand the solid reviews on Yelp and other sites for this seafood shack. The fish is caught literally from the local fisherman so it doesn't get any fresher. I tried the grouper sandwich with fries and this was light and flaky - just perfect! I enjoyed my fish sandwich. I plan on returning soon to try the shrimp. They have lots of seating outside and between the cool breeze and sunshine it's a lovely place for lunch. We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the boats and river.

Customer service was great. The southern charm was in effect. The owner threatened me with some of his wife's homemade pumpkin pie. I had no choice but to oblige. lol and The ambiance is everything you can dream of from a small coastal town. This establishment is service dog friendly which means a lot to this veteran.

We really loved how easy it was to eat here! We weren't super hungry and this was a great spot for a laid back dinner. We got the blackened grouper sandwich, fries, corn and a side of hush puppies. It wasn't a huge sandwich but it was very good; served on a hamburger bun with lettuce and tomato. We grabbed a seat on the water and that just added beauty to this chill evening out. We will go back and try the scallops and crab cake that was recommended by the host. By the way it's order at the counter, pick your own seating and pick up your food when the buzzer goes off but the employees were nice.

If the pictures of the view don't immediately sell you on wanting to try this place, then the food most definitely will. Waterfront seafood shack is exactly that, a shack on a dock overlooking the waterway. They have options to sit on the dock with a tremendous view or some picnic tables in the front. The seafood is as fresh as it gets since the fishing boats are usually docked right in front of you. I would definitely recommend getting your seafood calabash style since that is the style the town is famous for. They execute it perfectly and once you try some properly cooked calabash seafood you won't want it any other way.
